Clamp`s Hamburger Stand in New Milford

I think I ate burgers and fries every Sunday during the summer. They’re amazing!

delicious burgers; fries and more in comfortable outside setting.

Too bad it's not year-round. Best cheeseburgers & onion rings in this area.

Fantastic need to update to milk products from local farms

It is one of the last of its kind. A 1940’s(?) era hamburger shack. Interesting for the experience of “fast food” as it was in an era when individuals and families owned small-town businesses. Good solid food. Anything fried is good as you will find. The burgers are a 3.5. The falafel introduction is a hit. The hours are always worth checking; peculiarities know no bounds. Go, and enjoy a brief respite in a simpler time.

Been going to Clamps since I was a kid. I'm 58 now and I still love it!!

Delish! We got there 5 minutes before closing with 2 starving kids and they were so kind and had no problem whipping up a meal for a family of 4. The clam strips, fantasti, the fries-perfect...the oil was seasoned so good.Kids loved their grilled cheese, said it was better than moms!

As I ride around on my motorcycle, I look for different places to eat and different places to go. I found this place on google, and Will definately go again. It is definately old school in how everything is done, and I like it nice and simple.

It's a decent small burger stand. They have lots of other food as well. They are known in the area for their burgers, however I wasn't overly impressed. I asked for a medium rare burger with toppings. What I got was definitely medium to medium well. It was juicy but not pink at all. Onion rings were pretty good. Priced could be a little lower for what I got. Burger and onion rings was a little over trn dollars. Honestly for that I can get a top knotch burger down the street at 202 tavern, sitting inside having a cold beer, so I'm not sure I see the appeal.

Ribs were great. Gumbo is tomato based and not New Orleans style but tasty with crabmeat but too few shrimp. Sides were over priced, especially the small portions of cornbread. The baked beans were knockout good.

Great lunch spot, strict on their hours. An area staple! Get there before 2pm for lunch because they close for a few hours before dinner! Burgers, fries, and dogs are very tasty. Nice little area to eat, also.

I have been going to Clamps for decades, but I'm sorry to say my last trip there was very disappointing...I had invited a friend of mine from New York state to come up and eat at Clamps, telling him that it was the best burger and best fried clams that one could find anywhere in Northwestern Connecticut.much to my dismay, the burger was so so and I had to bring the clams back because they were chewy and there was no crispiness no flavor, it was like chewing on bland rubber.When I told themabout my clams, they made me another batch, and it was equally as awful.. very sad for me, a memory gone

I know this place is supposed to be quite the destination for burgers. After all, it was featured in George Motz’s Hamburger America book. Unfortunately, I was simply underwhelmed by the burgers and overwhelmed by the prices. It was nearly six dollars for a single burger, it was under seasoned and looked like a pre-formed patty of some sort, maybe a bubba burger? So disappointed as we had driven here specifically for my birthday. Maybe something has changed recently, such as ownership or management, but I can’t tell you how unimpressed I was with Clamp’s. Not trying to run them through the mud, just my honest reaction to a single experience.

A perfect meal for a summer day enjoyed in a spacious outdoor dining area. Good food and service and reasonable prices too. Try the homemade falafel, burgers, or fish fillet- and definitely get a side of fries.

We love Clamps! Its a little expensive for a burger stand and bring cash as they dont accept cards. Its definitely a treat in our house!

Wow, like going back in time, before food got fancy. Don't expect more than basic roadstop fare, but a great experience, remember when these were hy the side of the road every 20-30 miles when taking a road trip back when that was most of the adventure, long before the chains took over.Great family tradition, go at least a couple times each summer take a bunch of kids. . .Don't go mid afternoon, they close for a siesta! Strictly lunchtime and early evening, and only for the summer.

Nothing says summer like Clamps. Birch beer, rings, and a cheeseburger cost a small fortune now, but oh so good.

You come here for elemental things, such as a cheeseburger, done as you please, with both a crust and brimming with juices. The wise season theirs with salt & pepper. Those truly in the know get the magnificently caramelized onions, topping their burger. Nothing fancy, simple and delicious good good food, period. Cash only, no ATM available.

It's the spot to be! Perfect summer dinner! Have had the onion rings, chicken strips, fries, and burgers and it is all hands down awesome. The on tap sodas are to die for. Pricier than a regular burger joint but worth it. Grab a burger and soda and enjoy on a park bench. Not to be missed!

Clamps is a great place if your looking for good food in a nice outdoor environment!

Not sure what all the fuss is about. If your looking for super greasy, subpar food then I guess this is the place for you.

It’s 2018 and this place doesn’t expect credit cards or debit cards. As a business owner myself I know for a fact the fees the cards charge aren’t as high as business owners complain about. Seriously it’s 2018 every place should be taking cards. Get with the program.......

Great little burger joint that is worth the drive, and the wait (which usually isn't too bad), and the prices (moderate). There is a reason these folks are Zagat rated, and have been also noticed by Yankee and Connecticut magazines. The food is always great. Be careful with parking — Clamp's kind of sneaks up on you if you are heading north on Route 202 — and enjoy everything.

Had a excellent experience in this spot with my daughter. The food was served rapidly and the service is just fantastic. Prices are convenient.

Extremely overpriced for what you get. Nothing special at all. Would not waste my money going back again.
